How many pets?

Two dogs, Minnie and Daisy, both mixed breed dogs. Then I have a horse that stays on my mom's small farm.

I don't have any pets. I can't have dogs or cats at my apartment. I agreed when I signed the lease. But they did say I could get an Iguana or a snake. Those pets are fine. My ex wife had a dog that we fought about all of the time. She loved it. But it used to shit everywhere in the house and I wanted it gone. She promised to house break it and failed. I finally got rid of her dog. But she never got over it.

Why not go the safer route and get an aquarium and some fish. You could use it to help teach your kids responsibility and the joys of owning a pet. It sucks you're not able to have a dog or cat; but, I know a lot of apartments are getting restrictive of that because they don't like the expenses of paying to fix damages they cause.

I can get a dog and a cat. They'll make me pay a 300 dollar pet deposit and then they'll raise my rent by a 100 dollars just for having either one. For every cat or dog I have, they add on 100 more dollars to the rent. I just didn't feel that was in my best interest lol. If anything I feel like they punish renters for having pets with those fees.

You're not kidding, I used to think the same thing. They never punished renters with young children like that, when kids are just as likely to cause damage to a rental 'unit'. They can also cause damage to other units, the property and other renters' property. It seemed really unfair, especially when they didn't even try to accommodate pet owners by adding places for pets to be let out off leash nor did they have readily accessible poop receptacles.

Yes. Toddlers to young children will annihilate a house if you don't watch them every minute of the day. They'll cause thousands in damages. A child can destroy an entire house in minutes. I've seen it to where kids have taken crayons and colored on the walls. I've seen the after math where little kids have taken scissors and stab and cut huge holes in the walls. I've seen where kids have dumped paint and entire refrigerators worth of left overs into the carpet and completely ruined it. We had problems with my son when he was between the ages 2 and 5. He was a walking tornado. If he wasn't into something, he was breaking something. I'm glad he's over that stage because I don't want to go through it again. They're a 24 hour job when they're that age. Which is why I'm done having kids. I don't want to deal with the toddler/ terrible 2,3,4 stages. I hate those stages. They really wear you down mentally and emotionally. If I see someone, their kid better be ages 8 to 20 because I'm not dealing with it.

So it's all the more surprising when they charge people for pets like dogs or cats that can cause a fraction of the damages. The damages they usually cause are limited to carpet and a person's furniture. I literally only had to pay to replace some of the carpet because Minnie, my older dog, had a few accidents where she couldn't hold it in any longer because I was held over for work or stayed for overtime.

Currently I have a cat named Gizmo and my in laws have a chihuahua named Maya. I'm more of a cat person, once my wife and I move out we're going to get another cat. (That is if wherever we end up at allows more than one pet...)

Just one. He's a rescued Greyhound and his name is Bullet.

I have two, I have a gorgeous dog and a budgie.

I don't have any pets right now. I used to have a cat. She passed and since then, I never own a pet.
