What do you think about Heavy Metal music?

What do you think about Heavy Metal music?

Love it! I've been listening to mostly the old stuff from the 70s/80s though.

Do you have carpet, hardwood floors, or is it mixed per room at your house?

We have a mix of stuff, porcelain in the kitchen, then hardwoods in some rooms and carpeting in the family room and all the bedrooms. I hate carpeting, but we don't want to pay to have hardwoods put in because we're cheap. Plus, the carpet is in excellent condition since we don't have kids or animals and neither did the couple who used to live here.

Did you ever get that issue with your roof dealt with?

You mean the shutters? We don't have a roof problem, but we had shutter issues and a guy who scammed us and never came back. One shutter is still down and I think we'll have to pay more money in the spring to do something.

What three things are you taking with you to a deserted island?

Can’t be transportation related. :p

I'll take along a desalinater so I can get the salt out of the water and drink it...and then I'll take along some seeds to plant so I can eat and a fire starter so I can cook my food. Of course, I'd have to have a lifetime supply of my thyroid meds or I'll die.

Are you ready for the weekend?

Yes, because my husband is off work tomorrow, so the weekend begins then. His co-worker gave us some gift cards because he's been driving the guy to work since August (on and off) until the guy gets surgery. So we're going to one of the places for lunch. It ruins my diet, but oh well, I'm hungry.

@Lämmchen, what would be your ideal Valentine's Day gift?

I'm not really into that holiday since I don't wear jewelry, or perfume, I'm allergic to chocolate and the restaurants are usually packed LOL But if I had to get a gift, wow, this is tough. When you're my age you have almost everything you want or need. I guess what I'd really love is for a private chef to come to my home and cook a nice meal/dessert.

Are you fluent in German?

I had a friend in high school that could speak it pretty well.

Nope! When I went to high school, my sister had started me off early by teaching me French since that's the language she took. I was more advanced than the other kids in my class because of it.

I was actually embarrassed by my German roots, which is ridiculous now when I think back. So I have never learned the language, even though I know some words and phrases.
