What was your favorite channel for cartoons as a kid? Cartoonnetwork? Nick? Disney? WB?

It was actually a channel called Cbeebies over here in the UK. It was a free channel dedicated to kids TV shows and it had some amazing shows that I used to love watching as a kid

Oh nice! What were some of the shows on there?
I was more of a Nickelodeon kid, but they're both pretty awful now.
I loooved Nick as a kid too, and I entirely agree. I think both have already peaked honestly.

I think that with the free and on-demand availability of children's content on YouTube, TV channels dedicated to children's programming are struggling to find a niche.

Bob the Builder, Balamory, and Chugginton are the main ones that I remember. No idea if you're aware of the last two. I used to love Chugginton because I loved trains when I was younger.

Definitely. Kids are addicted to their phones now as well which means they are more likely to use YouTube than watch traditional TV shows.

Yeah no doubt. Its hard to compete with free competition.

Oh nice! Nah I never reay heard of the last two, but that is cool as hell! :D

Balamory was great. There was another one about a group of people living in an area in Scotland but I've completely forgotten what the name of it was.

I wonder how many exclusive channels the UK and Europe had back then.

Cartoon Network for me!

My daily watched cartoons:
  • Powerpuff Girls
  • Dexter
  • Johnny Bravo
  • Courage the Cowardly Dog
  • Ed, Edd & Eddy
How I miss those good old days, watching Cartoon Network eating frosties or fruit loops cereal in the mornings.

Yeah, man! Those shows were the shit!

Yeh Cartoon Network is not the same anymore. The cartoons are just plain old wierd now. I see my cousins watching them and I just dont seem to enjoy the new cartoons anymore.
Yeah sadly... neither is Nick, which is a shadow of its old self.

Same. Sadly we also kinda had to watch their downfall too, which is a bit of a catch 22.

Yeah sadly true, I am worried about the cartoons that would exist when we have kids ? That is a whole other conversation itself.
Hell, remember in 2009 when CN put LIVE ACTION shows on their lineup? I thought cartoons were going to be a dead thing by the decade's end lol.

Oh yeah!!! I forgot about that. I was so pissed when they started doing that. I started watching Nickelodeon then.

I mean, Cartoon Network is supposed to be 24/7 cartoon channel, Period!

I was too. By that point Nick moved to live action too, so I thought cartoons were a dying medium.
