As Kaiju rising from the sea overrun Australia, two siblings search for their parents as they fight to survive, together.

Premieres March 4 only on Netflix.

Ah man! I was thinking we were getting a Pacific Rim 3, not a cartoon lol. I think what set the movies apart from anime to me from my perspective is because anime has dozens of shows of giant robots fighting titans, other giant robots, and monsters alike. Pacific Rim kind of put up that barrier where it's not in Japan and it's not an Anime protagonist that saves the world. I think that's what I liked most about the first one.

I think they're doing it because it allows them the opportunity to explore more of the world without having to spend big money doing it for live action CGI. It could also be that they found it easier to hire voice actors for an anime than doing another big budget movie.

I thought the same thing. I thought we were getting a Pacific Rim 3 (another movies) when I clicked on this thread. I wonder if they are going to do another one of those movies?

I doubt it. They would have said something by now. I have a feeling they're just trying to get some form of continuity out of it period to further explore the lore behind it.

It could be that this is promotional and if it gets enough popularity, they might make a 3rd one. If not, we'll see one in 20 to 30 years.

Either way, I'm going to watch the anime because it's going to have more content than a movie would. You're literally talking about anything between 12-13 and 20-25 episodes of 20-25 minute episodes.

It's better than nothing. The movies really teases you with the fights in the first film. The final fight didn't feel fulfilling to me in the first film. Maybe this show will be super entertaining.

Come to think of it. I don't own the movies on Blu Ray or DVD.

Sounds like you have some work to do then! I'm going to give it the benefit of the doubt since anime and cartoons have come a long way the past few years if the right studio is involved.

Awesome. I think this will be good. I hope there's lots of violence. Like Alucard always says before he kills someone "Lets Do BATTLE!!"

@Merciless Depends. It could be hit or miss. I think it's airing on Netflix this week though so you'll be in the same boat as the rest of us, with none of us having seen it or having a true opinion.

Right I see, well I’ll give it a watch once it’s on and I’ll see what I think, I’ve never watched anime before so it will be interesting.

Sounds good, we'll have to convene back here and talk about it.

I just started watching it last night, it's pretty good. Just wanted to let everyone know that it should have a mature rating, there's some blood and gore.

No problem, I've already finished the six episodes available. Shame, I wish they'd had more. I guess it's going to be the new way of doing things. Have a season of six episodes and call it a season. I miss the days of anime where you got twenty plus episodes of thirty minute content.
