Gas in expensive!

I'm paying $4.59 a gallon here in the states. I drive over 150-miles a day 5-days a week. I put $85.00 in my tank every other day. I've recently been allowed to do 2-days a week virtually so I can save some kind of money.

Aside from buying a car with better gas mileage (vehicles are so expensive right now due to supply chain crises), there are no real ways to "relieve your gas" in my part of the country because we're rural.

I'm curious if any of you are able to overcome it? Especially now that the gas issues is a worldwide problem.

What have you been able to do to get some relief?

Cry into a little ball about these outrageous gas prices.
I went to the cheapest gas station around to fill up gas. It is now in the 5's and almost in the 6's.
The gas station across from where I got gas was in the 6's.
Sad Cry GIF

Gas here is extremely expensive comparing to the minimum wage, tomorrow we'll have a 10% increase. I remember last year we had half of the current prize..

I only drive 15 mins to work 5 days a week, and I'm a homebody outside of that.

If only I could convince my boss to let me telework to "relieve the financial stress of gas prices", as opposed to me just not wanting to leave the house.

I thought this thread was going to be about something other than gas for your vehicle. I thought, my what a personal question. lol
I thought so too, maybe he was curious about times when we feel comfy to release it :p

And rom the comments in this thread people are actually paying money to do it! Hell, I'll do it for free.

Is it just me or is the fuel I'm getting from the gas stations burning faster than usual when I drive?

My car gets almost 40 miles to the gallon so it's probably harder for me to complain about gas being that high compared to other people that are driving better vehicles. Now, I can tell gas isn't as cheap as it use to be but I'm glad I picked the car I did. I had picked it just for this reason...........I picked my car because I saw it got good gas mileage and I wanted something that kind of offset my husband's truck.

How do you drive? You might need to do some searching, there were a group of scientists who discovered how to maximize your fuel economy. Might need to put premium in your tank every once and a while to help with the pistons too.

You think that would help?

I've always used unleaded. It's worth a try then.

Yes, undoubtedly. Having a lighter foot and using cruise control/maintaining speed can do wonders for your gas consumption on a weekly basis. My Toyota Tundra gets a maximum of 18 or so; but, I've gotten it up to almost 19 and my dad swears he's gotten it to 20 on highway. You just have to avoid fast, hard accelerations and speeding up/slowing down.

There was this blog that recommended taking off your shoes as well as you can more accurately apply pressure with your bare foot on the pedal versus a tennis shoe. I'll try to find it.
