Do you rent an apartment / house or do you own your own place / house/ trailer/ double wide / etc ?

Own outright, well family does. NEver looked back from renting. Last time we rented was back when I was 10 years old, that was 17 years ago. Yet we had to pay of a loan for the first 5 years

I've been renting for as long as I can remember. I've always been on time when it comes to paying the rent. I would love to get a home loan for a 3 bedroom house. My siblings are in their early 20's and are paying mortgages and I'm still paying rent for an apartment and I'm 34 years old and divorced.

I own or am in the process of paying off to own my first house that I bought this past April.

I rent my house from my parents. It was theirs but they downsized and decided to keep and rent their house out.

I'm renting a house from my grandma now. I'm on the house title as a beneficiary under the (TOD).

I was renting from some people in town for 2 years but they were raising the rent on a lot of people and I really didn't want to pay more than I think I should have. Also, if another lockdown happened. I don't want to worry about paying rent on time. I feel like my living situation has improved.

How wonderful. I used to hate living in an apartment. Nosy people and the noise was horrible.

I had some neighbors in their early 20's. They threw huge parties way too much and did drugs. They were loud and rude to everyone. We had assigned parking spots with a number on it and they would take my parking spots. It was a small parking lot, so when they threw a party, their friends would take every spot available. One of the neighbors said they were selling drugs like marijuana and meth.

I ask them not to steal my parking space and that I paid rent too. Instead what I got was this girl up in my face telling me to "piss off". She did move her car. But I didn't like what followed.

  • One of her friends pissed on my door.
  • They threw trash on my door step.
  • During one of their parties some big guy tried breaking into my apartment.
  • They were always saying rude things to me and calling me a pussy.
  • Flipping me and my kids off.
  • They owed money to a lot of people so fist fights broke out between them and their "enemies" on the side walk.
  • The cops were always being called
  • They would yell things outside of my door as if they were trying to provoke me
And to top it all off. They were being evicted because they never paid rent and had to be taken to court. I was really happy when they left. They were scum.

@Terminated: That's what called true neighbors from hell.

It was terrible. My sister who is a cop went and told our parents and grandparents that where I was living was a bad side of town and that me and the kids didn't need to be living over there. She said she's always being called over to that part of town and it's mostly drug related.

Both me and my dad co own our house.

it is to own my house. Renting means paying and taking care of a home that isn't mine. So yes buying one for myself
