Right now USA legislators are in a pretty heated debate about what kind of bailout to give to those struggling from the pandemic to supporting small business to giving every taxpayer money. The main issue holding it up is the stimulus check part, which is almost confirmed to be $600 at this time though Trump and others view it as a joke and want more.

Generally I agree, $600 for those struggling is nothing and yet the money would also go to people who don't need such a boost of money. Though what are your thoughts?

$600 whilst other countries are getting millions. It's a crazy world. Looks like Trump is going to get involved and try to make it $2000 which the democrats seem to support.

$600 is way too little, that's less than some make a month. Many people need this money, I can only hope this number increases especially for those who have families. Back when we got our first check people with families got more and that makes sense.

Looks like Trump's Republican buddies are against the 2k. Our government isn't out to help the people it seems, but then again we are trillions of dollars in debt.

You are aware that the Democrats are the ones who put the millions and billions in there to other countries. Like the several million going to Pakistan for gender studies.

The $600 check isn't the big thing. The unemployment extension/bonus on top of the individual states gives those on unemployment nearly $1800 a month. That's more than most people who work in retail, fast food and the like make. Why would they work when they make more on unemployment.

It's funny to live in a country in which some of the state's governors expect people to not operate their business yet still expect them and all of their employees to keep paying the bills and keep food on the table without their paychecks or any real government assistance of any kind.

You'd think people might be more willing to accept the shutdowns if they actually thought they would still be able to pay their bills and eat? If you compared America's idea of assistance to many other countries in Europe and Asia, you would be shocked to see just how little America is doing for its citizens yet somehow this has been seen as normal by its citizens and what you as a citizen should expect from your government.

Here's a peak into what that bill is all about...

Yeah, I heard about New York's latest thing where they were having police go undercover and order food and arrest people when they would show up with the food delivery. They were also going recording videos of kids going to school to report them.

It's crazy how strict some of the lockdowns have gotten.

Who or what party fucked our national debt is for a different topic. As for this stimulus bill, it's being a copy of the last one in all the wrong ways. Needs to be done in a way, as you pointed out, not helping people to go to unemployment for free money but help those about to lose their business or home/apartments. What's the government doing? Those in the offices are kid fighting while the leader is down in Florida playing golf.

The President agrees or disagrees. He has no say on line vetoing, which I think is a horrible thing. It needs to be rectified to where the President can go through and line veto spending that he doesn't agree with or think appropriate to suit the needs of the American people. Don't blame the President for the unemployment benefits, those are primarily being pushed by the Democratic representatives and a lot of the companies that are struggling are in Democratic states who have pushed for really strict lockdowns.

The sheer fact that they tried to pass a 5,000+ page spending bill should alarm everyone.

Always jobs are the better ideal. Also, it's cooler when gas prices are lower - and they were lower under Trump. Anyway, it's tough for a lot of people to get jobs - due to personal circumstances.

But, of course, who doesn't want free money? Nonetheless, a good saver and money manager - with a job - doesn't really need the checks. The people who want them are people who can't get jobs, have very low paying jobs, cannot save or manage money.

However, I'm not saying I'm not one of the above people.

Well, I think a bunch of people ended up getting that $600. Last I heard, they were trying to do another stimulus package but they were trying to decide between $1400 and $2000. I heard they were going to pay it out to people who make less than $60,000 a year though.
