So in the UK, a covid vaccine has been approved and is being phased out in priority order. What do you guys think about this vaccine? Do you think there will be any long-term side effects that have not been mentioned? How reliable do you think it is considering it has been developed in quite a short space of time? If you were offered the vaccine, would you take it?
I honestly don't know what to think about this vaccine. Vaccines usually take much longer to develop and I have feelings that there may be some side effects in the long-run. I personally am sceptical about taking it.

I'd get it. No questions asked. Just like I get a flu shot every year. I'd rather have some immunity than get it with the possibility of suffocating to death from it. My mother, step father, half sister, and nephew all had it. Out of all of them. My sister and stepfather had to go to the hospital for breathing treatments several times. My nephew, being 3, had no symptoms. All it did was make my mother very tired, so she slept it off. So yeah. You bet your ass I'm walking in and getting the needle either at the Health Center, Wal-Mart, or Walgreens.

Yea that is understandable. I just feel like with my experience at university i'm pretty sure that I have had it but just didn't show any symptoms. I did get tested 3 times and it all came back negative within the last 2 months. Even with my friends.

As of today, the first 90-year-old has got the first and it's been on the news all day so far. It's over 80s first then after three weeks the next group gets it.

Going to be another 3 months or so before my age group gets it.

Honestly I don't get a flu shot. I hardly get sick, I've only got the shot once. Will I get a covid shot? Only if it was mandatory for my employer. I would also wait a bit before getting one if I had to get one, just to see how it affects other people.

I'd get it. There is no time to doubt about it, if it's over 90% effective it should get the job done i guess. And i think there's always a little side effect to almost every shot, if you take a flu shot you'll get some light headache for a couple of days or at least feel a little tired.

This has been really long already. I just wanna be free again to go anywhere i want!

I've never had a flu shot either. It's not even 100% effective so I don't see the point of taking it because you can still get the flu.

Personally, I'm waiting to find out more about the COVID one as well before taking it. They just found out that some people can be allergic to the vaccine. Two people in the UK had allergic reactions after taking it ?

I like how people just do not understand about the flu shot. Yes, you still can get the flu, 80% of the time people do still get the flu after so many months or weeks after there shot. Point saying what the flu shot does it wakes up your immune system and it makes it stronger and is ready for the real flu for your body to fight it off.

When you get sick with the flu you do not want to have a week immune system. IF your immune system is poor it will take far longer to flight it off and also impacts your heath

I think you're making a mistake here. As Empire said, the objective of the shot is to prepare your body to fight the muting virus, it certainly won't make you 100% free from it, the impact on your health will be much more less than expected, maybe you will be able to live your "common" life (nothing looks like common nowadays) without feeling miserable.

If you still consider not taking the shot, you'd better wash your hands all the time and wear a facemask!

Ah fair enough. But even then, it seems to target more at those with certain health conditions that make them more vulnerable to the flu right?

I hardly ever get sick so it would be pointless for me to get the Flu shot.

Yeah I'm not touching this, rushed out way to fast and its clear the world is the beta testers. I'm at no risk for Covid, so I'll wait and see how things play out.

You afraid it's going to cause people who get it to have heart attacks and strokes?

Yeah, if you're lucky enough to not get sick at all then it's fine, all organisms are different, i never get any stomach illnesses while a lot of people have some episodes at least once a month :p

My mom was asking if I'd get myself and the kids vaccinated. I said yes and that vaccines are the only thing that can fight off a pandemic. Masks are a joke.

Someone from the sonic community got the vaccine and he's been tweeting about his reaction. So far he said the injection area is irritated, but I think that's a common side effect. It's interesting keeping track of how it's affecting his body.

Whelp, one person has been sent to the hospital already:

Not saying its a widespread possibility, but hey, this is why you don't take something new right off the bat.

There are people out there that are against vaccinations. This falls into the category of people believing that vaccines are bad. Even people who get flu shots can have an allergic reaction to it. Even I feel somewhat sick after getting the flu shot myself and need a day to recover.

There's a group of people who claim, without a shred of proof, that vaccines cause autism and auto immune disorders. Yes, there are those people.

Did you know that because of the polio and typhoid vaccine that they give children, is the reason why those diseases are basically non existent in America now?

The only thing that puts a stop to pandemics are vaccines. It's been scientifically proven that vaccines work and there are volumes of evidence supporting that claim.
