Try to defuse the situation. Avoid physical altercations at all cost. All it takes is one misplaced punch or kick to land you or the other person in the hospital…or worse. Your pride may be bruised for a bit, but it’s better than a concussion or something.
Defuse if possible. If they're bigger or they have a weapon, then the best thing to do would be to run. If they're really small and I think I can take them on, shove them on the floor... and then run ?
I'm not a fighter. And I can't run so I have no idea what I would do in some situations. I carry pepper spray with me so I could try to use that if I have time. I'm usually a passive person and if it's a guy bothering me I'd probably cry because guys hate to see a woman cry
I have to agree with what others have said. If it's in public or home with a stranger, try to just walk away. Create boundaries. Stress that Respect goes both ways. Call Security or the Cops as a last resort.
If it's at home & I know the person, say a family member, then I can be more assertive. Especially when they are hurting another loved one. You do NOT want to hurt someone I love because I will fight back to defend.
