Some of the United Nations' most senior female officials have been meeting Taliban leaders in Kabul to discuss the ban on female aid workers, as Afghanistan battles famine and poverty.

There is a part of me that really feels like focusing on sending women will make the extremely anti-woman Taliban unwilling to meet any terms or comprises. While it is hard to put yourself in their shoes, you do have to remember that they rule with strength and what they consider a rigorous devolution, imagine the "weakness" they may be seen with if they let a woman negotiate terms of any kind.

I just don't see this achieving anything beyond news articles.
